Be Someone’s Santa – Skypark is City Drop Off Point

Skypark is a donation drop off point for the Be Someone’s Santa initiative this Christmas, as the charity gears up to make a difference to 2000 families across the city.

Be Someone’s Santa was founded by Jen Bannerman, who became aware just how hard it was for support agencies to help make sure vulnerable and disadvantaged children don’t miss out on receiving a present at Christmas time. Five years ago, Jen was allocated 35 families to help and through family, friends and Facebook she was able to provide gifts for them all. Working alongside Glasgow Health & Social Care Partnership, last year Be Someone’s Santa gave out 1600 presents.

LOCATION: Gifts can be dropped off behind Skypark 5, entering from Finnieston Street. Please look for signage.

REGISTRATION: Registering is vital so the charity can allocate a child or young person to buy for. Individuals, businesses, or organisations can register at www.besomeonessanta.com.

DROP-OFF DATES: If you would like to drop a gift off *remember to register online first*. The team is hosting 4 public drop off dates. These will be run on the following dates and times:

Jen Bannerman, Founder of Be Someone’s Santa said: “The need for a present donation service has grown and this year we are hoping to help over 2000 families. It’s vital to register so as we can match people, organisations, and businesses with a Christmas gift donation for a child, and particularly in trying to find gifts for older children. We all know that the festive period can be a difficult time for families in need of support. Thank you to everyone that is donating and supporting us this Christmas.”

Skypark’s Strategic Lettings Advisor, Angela Higgins of Resonance Capital said: “Skypark is proud to be partnering with Be Someone’s Santa in the run up to Christmas. If you can help by donating a gift, it will make a huge difference to children, young people and families that would otherwise go without.”
