SKYPARK ACHIEVES PLANNING CONSENT ON FIRST OUTDOOR COFFEE POD

News Release: 3rd November 2020

Skypark, Glasgow’s premier business destination, has announced that it has achieved planning consent on its first outdoor coffee pod, enhancing the prime F&B offer available in the Finnieston area of the City.

Located in nearby Finnieston Square the design of the 12 square metre pod will take a modular form within a shipping container, comprising a glazed end wall with views into a seated area.  To the front of the pod, a galvanised steel walkway with a hinge-up canopy will provide a serving area for takeaway coffee, adding the first outdoor retail offer to Skypark’s services.  The design proposal is by Glasgow-based firm Ingram Architecture & Design.

Skypark’s Strategic Lettings Advisor, Angela Higgins of Resonance Capital said: “Announcing planning consent for the coffee pod is positive news as we drive to improve the retail offer and frontage to Finnieston Street.  This is a prime retail location and a superb opportunity for an artisan operator to be located at the heart of the Finnieston entertainment hub, accessing our business community and the public.”

Stephen Ellis, Senior Investment Manager, International at Federated Hermes, added: “This planning consent marks a sizeable investment to strengthen the F&B line-up at Skypark and demonstrates our ambitions to establish Skypark as a business destination of choice. Excellent amenities enhance the overall experience of occupiers, allowing them to succeed as part of a vibrant business community.”

Culverwell has been appointed to market the coffee pod. Potential operators can note their interest by contacting andrew@culverwell.co.uk.

With a five-star service ethos and concierge, facilities at Skypark include an ATM, prescription delivery, and two on-site cafes, with access to all the transport links, restaurants and leisure facilities that Finnieston has to offer.

Tenants at Skypark include: Axis Animation, Motorola, Clyde Space, Spire Global, V Group, Ceridian Europe, Capita and Dermalogica.
