SKYPARK RETAINS TRAVEL 2 AND FILAMENT PD

Skypark, one of Scotland’s premier business locations based in Glasgow, has announced that Travel 2, one of the UK’s leading trade-only tour providers and Filament PD, the designers and engineers that transform technology into user experiences, have each signed new 5-year leases with the business destination.

A Skypark tenant since 2004, Travel 2 has agreed a new 5-year lease on 17,936 sq. ft. of existing office space in Skypark 1.  In total, Filament PD has signed up to 3,980 sq. ft. including a new 2,348 sq. ft. office space at Skypark’s 18 Elliot Place and 1,632 sq. ft. of existing workshop space.

Travel 2 is a subsidiary of dnata which is part of the Emirates Group, travel and tourism operation. Established for 37 years, Travel 2 works with all of the world’s top airlines, over 100,000 hotels, tours and rail suppliers, car hire companies and more than 45 cruise lines, to plan and book everything from flights, accommodation, cruises, tours and excursions to luxury getaways and group travel.

Lisa McAuley, Managing Director of dnata Travel B2B Europe said: “As a proud Glasgow business, Travel 2 is looking forward to continuing its success in its Skypark home. We have some exciting plans for further growth and these are likely to bring even more employment opportunities to the City.”

Filament PD, a specialist product design agency focusing on connected products and IoT, are pushing on in 2019, expanding both their physical facilities and partnerships within the sector. Working with funded start-ups to global brands, Filament develops products across multiple sectors from digital health care, smart offices and consumer electronics to financial security.

Craig Lynn, Business Development Director of Filament PD said: “Skypark in Finnieston has been our home for 5 years now, so we’re glad to be staying put and moving to a larger studio within the campus. The new studio space will allow us to expand the team over the coming years and also has the added benefit of being next door to our workshop, so we can seamlessly move from design to making on a daily basis.”

Skypark’s Strategic Lettings Advisor, Angela Higgins of Resonance Capital said: “Skypark has a long history of tenant retention and we are delighted that Travel 2 and Filament PD have signed up to remain here and grow their respective businesses. Their retention underlines that alongside supportive management team Skypark’s flexibility and service offer are a winning combination.”

Stephen Ellis, Senior Asset Manager at Hermes Investment Management, the £34.1 billion fund manager behind Skypark, added:  “Skypark continues to be an appealing location for both new and existing occupiers and these lease renewals are testament to the amenities on offer, as well as the growing appeal of Glasgow – in this instance, supporting the growth of travel and technology.”

Skypark offers a vibrant business destination and thriving social scene and services for tenants; monthly meet ups featuring live music, sewing, craft and art classes feature alongside art exhibitions, beauty, massage and Skyperks discount card. It is supported by a five-star service ethos and concierge; Bright Horizons Nursery, an ATM, prescription delivery, and two cafes are on-site. Skypark has immediate access to all transport links, restaurants and leisure facilities that Finnieston has to offer.
