Date of issue: 19 June 2020

PLANNING SUBMITTED FOR A PRIME FINNIESTON COFFEE POD

Skypark, Glasgow’s premier business destination, has announced that it has signed the restaurant chain Black Rooster Peri Peri and submitted a planning application for a new Coffee Pod, enhancing the prime F&B available in the Finnieston area of the city.

Black Rooster Peri Peri is an established restaurant and takeaway chain in the city and will be opening a 2,500 sq. ft. unit on Finnieston Street later this year, on a 15 year lease.

The initial designs for a new Coffee Pod in nearby Finnieston Square have been put together by Ingram Architecture & Design and will take a modular form within a shipping container, comprising a glazed end wall with views into a seated area.  To the front of the Pod, a galvanised steel walkway with a hinge-up canopy will provide a serving area for takeaway coffee, adding a new outdoor offer to Skypark’s services.

Skypark’s Strategic Lettings Advisor, Angela Higgins of Resonance Capital said: “We are pleased to have agreed a lease with Black Rooster Peri Peri, complementing our existing offer as we improve the retail frontage to Finnieston Street. On achieving planning consent, the Coffee Pod will offer a prime retail opportunity with access to our thriving business community, visitors and the public.  Potential Coffee Pod operators can note their interest by contacting andrew@culverwell.co.uk “.

Stephen Ellis, Senior Investment Manager, International at Federated Hermes, added: “Welcoming a popular brand like Black Rooster Piri Piri to Skypark, as well as setting in motion the designs for a new Coffee Pod, demonstrates our ambition for Skypark as a leading business destination. It has all the amenities that you would expect, in an unbeatable location, with these vendors adding to the gourmet reputation that has been established in the Finnieston area in which Skypark is located.”
