WELCOME BACK MACS ADVENTURE

It is a very warm welcome back to specialist self-guided holiday company Macs Adventure  as they return to the Skypark campus next month (February 2024).

Founded in Scotland in 2003 by Neil Lapping, the travel company offers over 500 self-guided walking and cycling holidays worldwide. With offices in Colorado in the United States and Saarbrucken in Germany, the company’s UK headquarters returns to Skypark 5 taking a 4,635 sq.ft. fully fitted office suite on a 5-year lease for around 100 staff members.

As the travel sector rebounds the appetite for bespoke holiday offers is on the increase. Macs Adventure is about breaking free from tourist traps and exploring like a local. With no big groups or crowded tour buses, Macs partners with B&Bs and locally run hotels and suppliers, supporting small businesses and local communities. Of the move back to site, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Macs Adventure, Neil Lapping, said:

“We need a larger workspace that inspires excellence and fosters growth whilst aligning with our sustainability goals. This move signifies the next phase of our evolution, bringing us to a new home that mirrors the energy and ambition of our fantastic team.”

Skypark’s Strategic Lettings Advisor, Angela Higgins of Resonance Capital said: “We are pleased to see Macs Adventure continue their journey with us from a new base in Skypark 5. Neil and his team of travel enthusiasts are dedicated to supporting local communities through sustainable travel, values that resonate with us at Skypark.  From startups to established businesses, we can offer flexible contemporary spaces, with opportunities to connect alongside a supportive management team creating new opportunities for growth”.

Christina Holland, Senior Investment Manager, Federated Hermes Real Estate, added: “We are excited to begin 2024 with this positive news, as Macs Adventure returns to Skypark. Skypark offers highly sought after, flexible office space, which not only supports the requirements of dynamic, modern businesses, but also delivers positive outcomes for the environment and the local communities. We look forward to building on the success of Skypark, as it continues to offer exceptional office space and creating a thriving community for growing UK businesses.”

Savills advised Macs Adventure on the transaction.  Ryden and JLL are joint letting agents at Skypark.
