Skypark Occupiers Raise Over £1,000 for STV Children’s Appeal

Glasgow, September 11, 2024 — Skyparkers came together for a heartwarming cause, raising over £1,000 for the STV Children’s Appeal during the Big Breakfast campaign. On Wednesday, September 11, former Love Islander and STV Appeal ambassador Anton Danyluk led a lively Big Brunch-pancake flipping and spin-to-win event, capturing the spirit of community and charity.

Skyparkers were invited to buy a brunch special from our on-site cafe Gather with each purchase providing a free breakfast to a child in need. All proceeds from Gather sales were donated directly to the STV Children’s Appeal, supporting their vital work.  Our youngest residents, children from Skypark’s onsite nursery Headstart hosted a teddy bears picnic and joined in the fun in fancy dress, and kindly donated their pocket money to the Appeal.

Our Big Brunch featured a range of fun activities, including:

  • Spin and Flip: Flipping pancakes on spin bikes. What could go wrong?  Skyparkers showcased their skills in a unique spin bike pancake flipping challenge, with the winner flipping over 50 in 30secs.
  • Spin The Wheel To Win: Skyparkers had the chance to win an array of prizes.
  • Honey Harvest Auction: Donations were also given to receive a jar of locally harvested Skypark honey.

The Big Breakfast event also included opportunities to mingle with colleagues, enjoy a delicious breakfast, brunch, or lunch and  meet Appeal ambassador Anton Danyluk.

Additionally, Skypark partnered with Nuffield Gym to offer team-building spin cycle classes throughout the Appeal week. These classes, available without a membership requirement, encouraged fitness and fun in support of the Appeal.

Angela Higgins, Strategic Lettings Advisor at Resonance Capital, praised the community’s efforts: “It’s fantastic to see such strong support from our occupiers for the STV Children’s Appeal. The Big Breakfast was a wonderful opportunity to come together, have fun, and make a real difference.”

A big thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this successful event. Your support helps ensure a brighter future for children in need.  And a huge thank you to all who donated, including nursery children who parted with their pocket money for this great cause.
